iPhone 3G Ringtone help...

I have a Verizon 3g iPhone and no matter what I do or try I cannot get a ringtone on my phone. I have bought songs, ringtones and tried programs with no luck. Any ideas?

I have a 4s and I've used iTunes to install ringtones on my phone. You have to import the ones you want into iTunes and than synch your phone to get them on your phone. They can only be 30 seconds in length and i be in m4a format I believe. I just did a google search on the topic and followed the instructions and it was fairly easy. I don't remember the exact steps so I'll let you google it. I don't want to mess you up
