iPad Mini 4 & Siri q's

I'm certain Siri could be accessed on my iPad Mini 4 with the spoken 'hey siri' command, unplugged.

Now it only works if it's connected to USB power.

Am I going mad ? Maybe the ipad was plugged in when I used the hey siri command and I didn't notice. I haven't had the mini 4 that long.

Hey Siri on the iPad Mini 4 only works when it is plugged into a charger. Use Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks, it must have been charging when I tried it.

Shame though. I wonder if ios 11 will fix that ?

It’s a hardware restriction, not an iOS issue. After the iOS 11 update you’ll still have to plug in your iPad to use Hey Siri.
