Users that opted to update their Apple gear by purchasing the iPhone 5 and iPad mini, received this week a new update to the latest operating system - iOS 6. The 6.0.2 build tries to fix some issues regarding wireless connectivity that some of the customers stumbled upon. Other than that, there aren’t any significant additions. The 6.0.2 update is available only for users of these two devices in question.

The only change Apple considered worthy of mention is that the build resolves some autonomy, stability and authentication issues that wireless users have encountered so far. The Wi-Fi issues have been fixed before, to no avail, apparently.
For those who want to perform the update, go to your iOS Settings application and select “General”. Then select “Software update”. You can update your device via iTunes on Mac or PC computers. But be careful, you should have more than 50% of battery life available in order to perform the update.

Here are the available versions for download:
  • iPad Mini (Wi-Fi) (iPad2,5) version 6.0.2 (Build 10A550)
  • iPad Mini (GSM) (iPad2,6) version 6.0.2 (Build 10A8500)
  • iPad Mini (CDMA) (iPad2,7) version 6.0.2 (Build 10A8500)
  • iPhone 5 (GSM) (iPhone5,1) version 6.0.2 (Build 10A551)
  • iPhone 5 (CDMA) (iPhone5,2) version 6.0.2 (Build 10A551)
The rest of Apple owners are awaiting the next big update, the 6.1 version of iOS 6 which will probably get released somewhere around the first months of the next year. The build has recently reached the status of Beta 4 and will most likely be unleashed to the general public at the beginning of February.
