Ios 5.01 Calender Help

I have my gmail calender loaded into the iphone so that I have all of my appointments and important dates. What I really want is to have my gmail calender imported into the iphone home calender so that syncing my gmail would no longer be needed. Is there a way to do this?

Yes there is...you need to load gmail into the exchange account on your phone...settings-mail,contacts, calendars-exchange-put in your account info, for server use m.google.com and leave domain blank....If you have added your gmail through the similar option of just GMAIL (when you push mail, contacts, calander) turn one of the mail switches off or you will get 2 of each email you get...let us know if that works or if that makes sense ....
