Introduction and question

I am a new verizon iphone user and am trying to download iphone update 4.2.8 via mobile 3g broadband (my only internet option in a rural area). I've tried twice and it takes 6 hours and I have yet to complete the download. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've looked for the topic and haven't found it yet but that may be because I am a new user.

Moving back to the city is not an option.

Welcome to the forum. You mean that you are using your phone to download the firmware 4.2.8? Why don't you do it using your computer?
