i restored my 3GS on ios 5.0.1 as new, jailbroke and then restored from backup. That was to see if it will fix my battery issue.
Now I have a problem with ibooks.
when i open it, i get this message:Configuration error
there is a problem with the configuration of your iphone.
please restore with iTunes or redownload iBooks.
I deleted and redownloaded multiple times and the same results.
I need this desperately since i bought an epub book which im studying.

Can anyone help?

Got the same problem with iphone 4 ios 5.0.1 and got it resolved as follows:
a) delete iBooks from iphone and re-install it from App Store
b) install iBooksFix2 from Cydia
c) reboot phone and all works fine

Try it to see if it help.

i can sync (including iBooks) without any problem

Nope, none of the fixes work and when i reboot, the ibooks is gone totally!
So annoying, just bought a epub ebook!

iBooks does not work reliably on Jailbroken devices. Period.

OK I finally found a fix that works!

Hey i just find out how to get ibooks to work on iphone4 5.0.1 unthetered with redsnow
very simple : get rid off the original ibook.app (you dont need the original ibooks.app)
install iBooks Fix for iOS5 from ***REMOVED FOR PIRACY*** , install or use your existing sbsettings from cydia and run Fix User Dir Permissions, respring und you have working iBooks again!

This is after trying all fixes found on the internet!

Oops I'm sorry, didn't know it's considered piracy....

Not true. With iBooksFix2, iBooks works exactly as it would on a stock iPhone.

Not in all cases. We support over 20,000 phones, and enough of these are jail broken that we get calls on this issue all the time.

ummmm, no, I meant that this ibooks fix that only they have that works isn't piracy! You can't get the exact one somewhere else paid!! and BTW I pay for my stuff :)

And: ibooksfix2 didn't work for me!

I second that @Jmills87, iBooksFix2 fixed it perfectly for me too. was reading a book last night in fact. @thewitt, what made you say such a blanket statement?

The fix wasn't the problem, it was the repo you provided that was piracy. The iBooks fix is available on the default repos, there's no need to add a piracy repo to obtain it.
