I don't want my phone to die

Before iOS 8.2 my phone lasted a few mins with 1%. Enough for me to take off the battery percent from the screen, close apps and turn on airplane mode alongside turning off WiFI. Now The 1% doesn't last a few seconds. How can I make it to work again like before?

While re-calibrating the battery percentage indicator will allow it to show a better picture of the true charge level of the battery, as far as I'm aware, there's no way to manually adjust the time the iPhone spends at 1% before the battery dies. All I can suggest is that you take your battery saving measures a little earlier when there's still 2-3% left.
