I can't hear Siri. I can see the text, but I can't hear the audio.

I don't use Siri too often. The last time I used her ( I have the Australian female voice) was about 2,3 weeks ago.

I tried to use it a little while ago to get the temperature.
It is quite pleasant outside and I wondered how warm it was........( it is 68F / 20C).

When I asked Siri for the temperature, I got a text reply but she did not speak to me.

I tried checking Settings.....Sound....... and did not see anything.

I went to Settings ........Siri ...and I checked everything. Nothing has changed.

    Listen for Hey Siri.............................on........green
    Press home for Siri..........................on........green
    Allow Siri when locked....................on....... green

    Voice Feedback...........................................always

    The Ringer is up, halfway.

I have not changed any settings. But, fumbling fingers can do anything.

She can hear my requests but I can't hear her.
How come I can't hear Siri?

    Is your iPhone on mute?

No, I double checked........the switch on the top left is pointing up, with the red covered.
    Good idea though.

Any chance you’re unintentionally paired to a Bluetooth device and the audio is going there? Headphones or car, for example?

No, it pairs to my car and sometimes my laptop but not currently.
    Good ideas though.

I noticed that my battery ran down to 20 percent, so I plugged it back in.
I turned off wifi and cellular and about a minute later Siri.....started to repeat ........Welcome Raymond, Hello Raymond etc....

It was caught in a loop for several seconds.

I have never had this problem before.

I will try solving it again after it recharges.

Now it's working .........maybe it was the cell coverage or low battery or just a glitch with the Siri software.....who knows........maybe I'll ask Siri.........:).
