If i just run tinyumbrella and do 'save all shsh', it saves my blobs to my computer - but does it also save it to cydia? or do i need to do something else?
It's possible. Download the latest version of RedSn0w, go to Extras > SHSH Blobs > Submit. Or if they're on your device, you can use Fetch instead of Submit.
