How to Extract Spotlight Index from 3GS

I have an iPhone 3gs on 4.2.1 jailbroken and when I go into the spotlight search on the phone and enter a search I see tons of sms messages but when I click them they don't load. Is there a way to access the raw file of this index and extract it to read the sms messages? I have already tried reading backups from the sms.db file and other options but none have lead me to find where the messages that show up on the search are stored and how to read them?
