Hello,

I inherited a jailbroken unlocked iphone 3GS (baseband 6.15.00, so GPS does not work)...

I am trying to figure out who was the original carrier. If it was AT&T, then perhaps I can contact them to request an "official" unlock, so that GPS can be restored?

What do you think? How can I know who was the original carrier that the phone is locked to?

Thanks.

Hi,
there's a tool called iTools for iPhones! Just download it, open it, connect your phone to your computer, and it will give you all required details!

Yup. thecreator is right...........about the baseband part, and the GPS too, but that may be fixed. who knows.

And there is no need to go on a quest for what the original carrier fo the phone was. Is was AT&T. It could not possibly be any other carrier. Only iPhone 4 and up were used on different carriers. The 3GS was and always will be locked to the AT&T network as no other carrier has the iPhone 3GS.
