I have an iPod Touch 4th generation running IOS 6.1.5 and I would like to change the way that notifications appear on the lockscreen.

I don’t like how when they first pop-up they appear really big in the middle of the screen like this: http://imgur.com/8TJMoWp (covering up my clock)

And I also don’t like how if I get a ton of notifications, they all build up and cover the whole lockscreen: http://imgur.com/ljTBrxs

What I would like is for notifications to always appear like this: http://imgur.com/8AaXmQy (never as a big pop-up in the middle) And if I get more notifications from the same app, I would like them to replace the last notification, so there is only 1 notification for each app, like so: http://imgur.com/bypL1Xm

I love getting notifications (especially for messaging apps) on my lockscreen, but at the moment they’re just too intrusive and cover too much of the screen.

Is there a way to achieve what I want?

Just turn all your notifications for "Show on Lock Screen" off. You can still get them on the pull down Notification Screen. You can also have them show as a banner at the top. You don't have to show all your notifications on the Lock Screen. Maybe just your most important 2 or 3. Some just have too many. Like Facebook. I have all notifications for Facebook turned off. It's just too many. I can see them when I open the app. I have most things turned off for Lock Screen notifications. Just calls, iMessages, and Facebook Messenger, and weather alerts. Everything else is on the pull down screen.

The problem is I want to see my notifications on the lockscreen, and turning off "show on lock screen" completely hides all notifications from the lockscreen...

Then you'll have to put up with them hiding whatever is on your screen. You get too many. Especially Hangouts. There may be a way if you're jailbroken. I don't know. I'm not jailbroken and don't know the tweaks. If you're not jailbroken, there's nothing you can do other than removing some. You really do get too many. Why do you need that many show on your lock screen? It's just as easy to pull down the notification center. You can't have it both ways. :)

Yea, I was hoping there might be a cydia tweak which does what I want (hence I posted it in the jailbreaking forum!)

"Why do you need that many show on your lock screen?" I'd really rather not have them! However as you said, it's going to be quite difficult to achieve exactly what I want...
