How to adapt PDFs for iBooks on iPhone?

It isn't very nice to zoom in and out and keep scrolling over the pages as to read the small sized text for my iPhone.
Is there some way to make a PDF more readable, maybe by reducing it's width, so I at least won't have to scroll sideways?
