How do you take a screen shot photo on 4s?

I apologies if this has been discussed before( could not find anything with search function) I am trying to take a photo of what is on my screen but have no idea how to do it, can anyone help please?

You hold down the power button then click the home button and you'll take a screen shot. The screen will flash white and you'll hear the camera shutter noise. You will find the resulting pic in your camera roll.

Tried that. Didnt work. Unless I am not using the home button. Which button exactly is that?

The power button is the long raised one at the top of the phone. The home button is the round button on the face of the phone.

I belive I have got how to get a screen shot on my iPhone 4 from your tutorial picture, and if it can work well on ipod touch? I will have it a try.
