How can I attach file in already mail

Hi, this is my first iPhone and I can not figure out how to add an attachment in the mail already open.

What type of attachment? If its a photo, open the photo, hold your finger on it and hit copy then in the body of the email hit paste.

FYI:
As already stated you have to select photo first then create email.....only when jailbroken can you create an email(first) and from within add an attachment...photos,text,music after.... it doesn't seem much but many times I have started writing email and partway through deciding to add an attachment....

This will be able to be done in iOS 6. Yay!
