help me understand "find my iphone".

ok, i set up icloud, and downloaded the find my iphone app. i log into the app on my phone, check the "keep me logged in box" and sign in on both the phone and icloud. the system has no problem finding my phone.

an hour later, i go back to do it again, and it wont find my phone. i realize that im no longer logged in on the phone. i log back in, and it instantly finds the phone.

later that evening, i try it again, and realize again that im not logged in on the phone. so, if someone steals my phone, does this mean that they have to log in to the app before i can use icloud to find the phone ? shouldnt it stay logged in ? if it stays logged in, is this going to drain the battery ?

You are lucky. It can't find my iPhone or my wife's iPad at all

Mine does fine, I havent used my phone in a couple hours and just saw this post, went to icloud signed in and it had my phone to about 40ft. Good luck be sure to post the answer if you find it

hmm never used it yet. but once i get my 4s i will look into it.
