Help! I can't wake up!

Hi. I am a new iPhone user that switched from Android. On my Android I had an alarm clock app that forced me to type in answers to math questions in order to stop the music which progressively got louder. It actually worked to wake me up by forcing me to focus/think on something. I have tried several alarm clock apps for the iPhone and am having 2 issues...
1. None of the apps I have tried actually work when I charge/dock my iPhone onto my Sony ICFCS10iP Speaker Dock with Alarm Clock and Radio for iPod/iPhone. And, NO, the Sony alarm clock does not wake me up (I hit snooze w/o even waking up). One of the apps said it would work while docked in iHome but it didn't work for me in the Sony.
2. I can't find an app that is the same or very similar to the Android one that I love (Alarm Clock Xtreme by Angle Labs)

Any suggestions?

Have you tried moving the alarm further away so you have to crawl out of bed?
