Having trouble ending calls

my new 7 plus locks while thanking on the phone, and I have to unlock. The phone before I can hang up. This is quite annoying, and I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my phone that's not sensing the move away from my ear via the light sensor by the ear speaker.

Thoughts?

I don't think there's anything wrong with your phone. It's just the way you have it set up.

You can end a call by pressing the lock button at the top of the phone.
