You can figure out pretty much everything just by using it and playing with it.
In pinch in and out with 2 fingers to zoom in and out with the camera.
Swipe to the right across the camera screen to view pictures.
When viewing a picture tap the trash cabin the lower right corner to delete a photo. Can also do this in the Photos.app.
In the Photos.app, tap the "Edit" button in the top right corner to add a new album.
When you open an album, tap the little box with the arrow. You can then choose what you want to do with multiple photos.
You can edit a photo in the Photos.app by opening a picture to view and tapping "Edit" in the top right.
You can choose some action by opening a picture to view and tapping the box with the arrow in it. Like email, message it, tweet it, assign to contact, use as wallpaper.
Tap and hold on a photo to copy it. You can then paste it into an email.
You can rely on photo stream to save the last 30 days of photos, or use a cloud service to always have access to them. I think the cloud service way is better the Photo Stream.
What I like to do to save all my photos is use Dropbox.
Make a Dropbox account. (free)
Download the Dropbox app from the AppStore
Open it, sign in.
Tap the "Uploads" tab
Tap the plus sign in top right corner.
Your camera picture e bright up...simply select the ones you want backed up.
Tap the black button underneath "choose an upload location" to choose which folder the pictures will be uploaded.
Once the pics are uploaded to dropbox, they will be there forever until you delete them.
You can download the Dropbox folder from Dropbox.com to your computer. Anything you drag and drop into that folder will show in the Dropbox app on your device, and vice versa.
Simply take a screen shot (press home and sleep button quickly at the same time) to save a picture to your camera roll, or tap the box+arrow image and tap Save Image.
It's all very easy and simple. There is not too much to figure out.
I recommend you download iBooks, and them download the iPhone user guide for iOS 5.1 for free from the iBooks store.
