Mobile games studio Jam City and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that forthcoming iOS game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, will arrive in the App Store on April 25.
Jam City and Warner Bros. also revealed today that many of the characters from the Harry Potter films that feature in the new game will be voiced by the original actors, including:
[*]Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall)
[*]Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore)
[*]Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick)
[*]Sally Mortemore (Madam Irma Pince)
[*]Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey)
[*]Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch)
“If I could attend Hogwarts as a student, I would be most excited to attend the potions class taught by Severus because it is the most exotic,” said Dame Maggie Smith, voice of Professor McGonagall.
"Our goal with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is to make players really feel for the first time like they’re attending Hogwarts,” said Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City. “By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience.”
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is the first mobile game where players can create their own character and play the role of a Hogwarts student. The narrative adventure game with RPG elements sees players getting to create a personalized student avatar, attend classes, learn magic skills, and either make friends or become rivals with other students. The choices that you make in-game will affect your character’s story arc at Hogwarts, with a new encounter system whereby your decisions and actions impact your quests as you attempt to create your own legacy as witch or wizard.
