Google Maps Adds Pit Stops and 3D Support on iOS

Some would agree that Google Maps is the best navigation application on iOS, even better than Apple Maps. Both services have pros and cons, Google is able to update its Maps application frequently via App Store, while Apple must put out a new firmware with any updates.

On Monday, Google released an update with some long-awaited feature to its GPS app. Google Maps now has support for pit stops, where users can add destinations one would stop at along the way to the final destination. These pit stops can include gas stations, restaurants, or any other place imaginable really.

3D Touch support in the latest Google Maps update adds quick actions to the Homescreen icon. Users can now press and hold the icon firmly to reveal quick navigation to home or work.

Google Maps is available in the iTunes App Store for free.
