I currently have an Android phone but am due an upgrade and I'm considering an iPhone. My question, however, is not at all what will make me decide between another Android, or an iPhone. It's just curious question. My question is: when texting someone is it true that an iPhone tells you if the other person has read the text you sent them? Kinda like on Facebook messenger, I guess. I just find that kinda cool and was curious. Thanks!

For iMessages yes, that's built into the iMessaging service. For regular texts, you can ask for your other party to turn on read receipt or you'd need a jailbreak

That also depends if other iPhone user allowed that I mean that could be set on/of in settings

I would NEVER EVER set my phone (any phone) to let the other party know I even opened the message...do the same with e-mail....
