Froze up

My 2 day old iphone 8 plus froze up on me..i cant turn it off or to a hard reset..any one else with this problem

Performing a hard reset on iPhone 8 has changed....
Is this what you're doing?

1. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
2. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
3. Press and hold the Side button (aka power) until you see the Apple logo.

If you have no luck remember you have 90 days of free phone support with Apple.

I was just going to post that I couldn't get hard reset to work on my new 8. Glad there is still a way. However, it's a PIA. LOL! The reason I was trying for the reset no matter how many ways I try to enter my thumb for the print ID, it won't work! Ugh!

It is odd that the hard reset change considering there is still a home button. Is it because it’s not technically a button?

When the phone is off the home button doesn’t do anything, so that’s why you should press the power button instead, in my opinion it’s much better less to go wrong with the phone
