BGR writes today that according to China Labor Watch, workers at a Foxconn factory in Zhenghou, China went on strike on Friday in protest at the intense working conditions, which it is said are due to Apple’s strict quality control standards for the iPhone 5. China Labor Watch says that the factory management and Apple have given the workers strict standards that they must deliver on, including indentations of 0.02mm, as well as demands about scratches on frames and back covers. “With such demands, employees could not even turn out iPhones that met the standard,” the report continued. Apparently, from 3,000 to 4,000 factory workers went on strike, bringing production lines to a standstill for the entire day. It was also said that brawls broke out. In response to the report, Foxconn issued a statement saying that there were no strikes at the plant on Friday, although it did agree that two disputes occurred, but said that they were settled.
