Flipboard brings some good news for iPhone owners: it has just launched its popular iPad application as a universal app, so all iDevice owners can enjoy it. Flipboard is a very popular news reader, presented in the form of a magazine and complete with animation and sharing function. Of course, it doesn’t lack the social integration feature.

The Flipboard for iPhone app doesn’t really bring something extra than its iPad counterpart except for being optimized to be used on iPhone, rather than on a wide screen size. The only thing that you will find new is “Cover Stories”. What is Cover Stories, you ask? Well it’s a feat that gathers up interesting bits of news and stories from feeds and places them somewhere that you are surely going to see. Forget flipping through pages! Nevertheless, because the next page in Flipboard is load underneath the previous, flipping becomes very easy. Don’t despair, iPad users, if this feature appeals to you, the Flipboard team swears that the feat will also land on iPads soon enough, therefore keep your eyes open!

You can still share stories and photos back to your favorite social network, like in the old version and add comments from within the app, as well as browsing items by category.

If you have a Flipboard account already, you can sign into the iPhone app using this particular account, thus all your preferences will be saved and the social networks you mostly surf, will be made available in the blink of an eye.

I'm super hyped for this, when it decides to work properly. Everyone is getting a "no Internet connection" window, regardless of whether you are on 3G or WiFi.

App internet issue has been fixed. Just as awesome as it is on iPad.
