Hamburg-based developer Fishlabs Entertainment’s eagerly anticipated new extreme sports game, Snowboard Hero, has just won two awards at the International Mobile Gaming Awards during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The game won both the Best Sports Game and Operator’s Choice awards, and it’s not even out yet! Snowboard Hero is set to appear on the iPhone and iPod touch during this snowboard season. The Java version of the game has already proved to be hugely popular, and the completely revised iPhone version of the fast-paced snowboard game features breathtaking jumps and fantastic tricks, as the player competes with experienced snowboard pros, attempting to pull off as many unbelievable tricks as possible during the long flight phase in order to rack up the points. Breakneck descents must be mastered in five different disciplines, which can be combined as desired to create demanding races for time, points, and gates. The game is also customisable, enabling you to change your character’s appearance and characteristics, and special boards can be unlocked with improved agility, speed, boost and jumps.

“The IMGAwards are the fairest and most important competition for mobile games that there is, because, on the one hand, the decision is made by an extremely expert jury composed of experienced industry professionals such as mobile games journalists, 3D-graphics chip manufacturers, and network operators, and on the other hand, the Mobile World Congress is the most important event in the industry, making it a perfect occasion with guaranteed global attention,” comments Michael Schade, CEO of Fishlabs Entertainment. “All the more reason for us to be pleased that we scored such a hit with Snowboard Hero.”

Snowboard Hero for iPhone is due to be released to the App store this March, for $6.99/€5.49/£3.99.
