The iPhone X isn’t even out yet (we have to wait until Friday for that), but as 9to5 Mac reports, hands-on videos have already started to appear online. In a departure for Apple from its usually very tight control of exactly who gets to handle a new product before launch, it seems that most of the videos are officially sanctioned by the company, with several lucky YouTubers getting some hands-on time with their new iPhones ahead of launch.

Three of the videos are by YouTuber Booredatwork.com, and feature the first hands-on experience with the phone, as well as a two-part demonstration of how to set up Face ID. Other videos posted from Soldier Knows Best and Highsnobiety also show the iPhone X “in action,” including use of Animoji and various camera settings. You also get to see just how gorgeous the edge-to-edge screen looks, and even how fast Apple Pay works now in conjunction with Face ID.

This was really a great idea from Apple, to pre-empt the leakers with their own officially sanctioned, high-quality YouTube videos that are so well presented and give a fantastic sneak peek of the new iPhone in action.
