Rumors regarding a potential secret Apple car project have cooled off in the past few weeks, but now we're hearing some interesting new details coming from the Reuters publication. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne met recently with Apple's Tim Cook, apparently to discuss the tech giant's "intervention in the car industry."

However, just as it was expected, Marchionne didn't reveal other details regarding this, but it's safe to say that Apple is continuing work on new automotive technologies. At the moment, Apple's single automobile-related initiative is CarPlay, the iOS-based in-car infotainment system designed to connect with and feed on the iPhone's entertainment and navigation capabilities.

Back in March, Tim Cook said that all major automakers will roll out integration across 40 car models this year. Marchionne's recent meeting with Cook further fuels rumors of a so-called "Apple Car," which is said to be an electric vehicle in development under the codename project "Titan."

There have been numerous leaks, rumors, hearsay and assumptions towards that fact, but, of course, Apple's executives are keeping it silent for the moment, just like it has happened with their most recent new product, the Apple Watch.

What about you, what's your take on this? Do you think Apple is really working on a car of its own or they're just interested in developing CarPlay? Sound off by leaving your comment below.
