Recode reports that Facebook Messenger has today launched its own version of Snapchat’s Stories feature. Called “Days,” the new feature will enable Messenger users to share photo and video collections with friends for up to 24 hours before they disappear.

Messenger has been testing the feature since last fall, and it finally becomes available worldwide from today in the Messenger app. To use it you simply have to take photos and videos via Messenger’s in-app camera and then post them as a “Day” for your friends to watch over the next 24 hours before they vanish forever from the app.

It’s pretty much exactly the same as all the other “Story-like” features that are all copying the idea of the Snapchat original, including Instagram and WhatsApp’s versions. Stories is one of Snapchat’s most popular features, and latterly, Instagram has found success with its own version. Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom told Recode last December that since Instagram introduced its Stories feature, users have been sharing much more content on the app than previously.
