Error message when creating ringtones

Downloaded Ringtone Maker. My first attempt, however, resulted in this error message: "Please disable the funny effects and try again with another song. Or reboot your iPhone and try again." Does anyone have any idea what they mean by "disable the funny effects"? I simply put in a starting point.
