Error 3194 while updating iOS 5

Hi all iPhone 4 users,

I’ve recently completed jailbreaking with redsn0w and using Gevey sim to unlock. Currently I’m on iOS 4.2.1 with baseband 03.10.01. Whenever I try to upgrade to custom IPSW iOS 5 (no BB upgrade), it gives Error 3194. Even changing the hosts file doesn’t seems to work.
Upgrading to iOS 5.0.1 (no BB upgrade), the phone always stucks in DFU mode. (Running just boot in Redsn0w restored my phone numerous times)

Can anyone help.

Also after upgrading to iOS 5 or not, can i remove jailbreak and still use cracked apps already installed using ifunbox.
