Football fans all around the world, rejoice. Back in 1989, EA Sports launched the game that became a smash hit for sports fans everywhere – Madden NFL 2. Twenty five years later, the game finally comes to mobile devices, and in this context, to both iPhone and iPad. Fans can purchase their copy of NFL with a combo of NFL Sunday tickets available for a year at the price of $100. But this is just for the die hards, overall the app is free to download. Here’s what you should be expecting:

“An experience 25 years in the making! EA SPORTS delivers the most authentic NFL football experience to date on iPhone and iPad with MADDEN NEL 25. Build your Ultimate Team of NFL stars and run the show on offense and defense with new and improved touch controls, game modes and much more.”

As is the case with desktop games which have been transmuted to the mobile environment, there are certain concerns related to controls and overall gaming experience. But as was expected, EA improved touch controls for the game and added a few extra features. For example, gamers will now have to earn coins which will allow them to improve their players or buy new advanced players. Most of the actions in the game like getting players to move from one spot to another are based on “intuitive tap & swipe controls”.

Interested gamers can head on to the App store and download the 702 MB game. You will require an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch that runs iOS 5.0 or later to play the game.
