I have a file of pictures on my desktop and want to download them to my iphone 5.

Can this be done?

I used to email pics to my @me address, then check the email on my iPhone to get the files. If it's a .zip file, however, you might want to either email the pics themselves or install an app that can handle archives on your phone.

I don't know if the iPhone 5 can do AirDrop, but that's another option if you have a Mac available. I do this all the time now, it's much faster.

You can also use online storage (OneDrive, Google Drive, Evernote, Box, Dropbox, ....) to sync them to your iPhone and then save the file to an app there.

Put them in a folder on your desktop then use the free desktop app SYNCIOS to transfer (import) them to your phone where they appear as a new album.
