Disney to launch interactive game Infinity for iOS

Good news for game lovers who also have a hot spot for Apple. In a common effort, Avalanche Studios, together with Disney Interactive and Pixar, have announced that a new interactive game, named Infinity, will be launched on the market soon. The gaming platform, nicknamed Disney Infinity, was announced at the El Captain Theatre in Los Angeles and will be available on Apple’s iOS, as well. Other details were not given, but the prospect sure sounds thrilling.

The game will surely be an interesting presence on the game market. For one, it consists of a hardware and software component, so it’s not your average game. To play the game, users will need to acquire figurines, which will be in turn plugged-in to be used in game play and unlocking new environments.

Disney Interactive Co-President John Pleasants, already demonstrated the game and introduced the characters that will become available for the gamers’ pleasure. If they are movie lovers, players will have the opportunity to blend their passion for film into the gameplay as the characters come from famous Pixar and Disney movies. So, users will be able to plug in and play with their favorite characters (which are called properties) from Monster Inc., The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean and many more. At launch, we are going to see more than 20 toys released.

The game will allow gamers to both play in multiplayer universes (Play Set) and in a wider “Toy Box” multiplayer universe.
