Developers Remedy already have a great track record in the world of console and PC games having given us the fantastic Max Payne series as well as last years AlanWake. Now theyve ventured into the world of iOS gaming in spectacular fashion with Death Rally, a remake of the classic 1996 top-down vehicular combat game. Working in conjunction with two expert iOS developers, Mountain Sheep and Cornfox & Bros, Remedy has completely revamped the classic original, both in terms of gameplay and visuals.
Death Rally challenges players to battle their way to the top while surviving a fierce onslaught of bullets, missiles, and death-defying stunts. You start out with the trusty Vagabond, a steady, reliable vehicle with a pea shooter for a gun, but don't despair, you won't be stuck with it forever! With each new bracket, Death Rally introduces more experienced opponents with faster cars and bigger guns looking to destroy anything that gets in their way. The longer you survive and the more races you win, the more money you can earn to tune-up, repair, and upgrade your car. You can also upgrade to better guns and cars to help you keep pace with the opposition.
Death Rally has been redesigned and upgraded to the point where it feels native to Apples systems. Seeing it on iPad 2 is jaw-dropping, said Oskari Ozz Hakkinen from Remedy. Weve added bonus drivers keep an eye out for Duke Nukem, John Gore from Minigore, Barry Wheeler from Alan Wake just to name a few. All of this is in the first release, and there is more coming soon in the free updates following - expect new tracks, new guns, new cars, challenges, multiplayer and even new guests, like the Mighty Eagle from Angry Birds.
