Death Rally Gets New Update with New Ice Track

Alan Wake and Max Payne developers Remedy have today released a new trailer to go with the latest update for the revamp of their classic 1996 top-down racing combat game, Death Rally. The update introduces an icy new track, Eureka, which you can see it all its frozen glory in the above video. Also included in the update is a new track-unlocking mechanism, which enables you to collect track parts to unlock new levels; a backup system, whereby you can restore game progress based on your Game Center information; and a new in-app purchase, “Shadow Man,” that will enable you to progress faster.

Here’s a list courtesy of Remedy of some of the main improvements introduced in the update:

• More compatible with older devices thanks to reduced memory consumption
• Changed starting grid position randomization
• Menus optimized for iPhone 4 and iPad 1
• Main menu can now be scrolled from the very bottom of the screen
• Added sound effects for the subway in Velodrama
• New sound for the Striker weapon

This game just looks like so much fun, especially for anyone who remembers classic top-down racers from the past such as Micro Machines.
