AppleInsider reports that customers who were lined up outside the Apple Store in Tokyo's Ginza district today waiting for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c launch, despite the threat of a typhoon hitting the area, were welcomed into the Apple Store and given protection from the storm. According to Kotaku, the Apple Store employees invited the drenched customers into the store before it was due to open, enabling them to dry off their wet garments and camping equipment in the store, as well as giving them free bottles of water.

The above YouTube video was filmed inside the store today, with the uploader of the video, "apptaylor" saying that they were "so moved" by how the Apple employees treated them and helped them, according to AppleInsider. In the comments for the video, apptaylor says that it was shot using iMovie.

As AppleInsider notes, interest in the new iPhone launch is even higher than usual in Japan, due to the fact that NTT DoCoMo, which is Japan's largest mobile carrier, will be selling the iPhone for the first time.
