Custom ringtones on iphone won't sync with new PC

Hi,


I've installed custom ringtones on my iphone though itunes. Unfortunately I've had to re-install windows on my pc and now want to get the ringtones back onto itunes on the PC. The reason why is so that I can add more ringtones to my phone and also because my understanding is that custom ringtones do not back up to icloud.

When I sync the iphone with Itunes, it only seems to offer the ability to replace the tones on the iphone with those on PC which is going to erase those on the phone.

Any ideas?

It may seem a little simplistic but have you made sure that you have your iPhone set to sync ringtones? Because it isn't set to sync them by default, you have to set it to sync them the same way you have to set podcast and pictures to sync.

Hi thanks but I can't do that as iTunes will only sync one way and delete the ringtones from the phone.

I have found a workaround. I used sharepod to copy the ringtones from the iPhone to my hard drive. So I can now sync and then just reinstall them.
