MacRumors reports today on news via Digitimes that sources are now saying that Apple’s next iPhone could have “curved cover glass.” According to the sources, Apple has bought 200-300 glass cutting machines for the glass makers to use to produce the parts. As MacRumors notes, if the information provided by the sources is accurate, it once again throws doubt on many of the recent stories coming out of Apple’s iPhone supply chain that have said that the iPhone 5, due to launch in September, will be very similar to the iPhone 4. MacRumors adds that a previous iteration of Apple’s iPod Nano was fitted with a curved glass screen, but this new rumour regarding the iPhone 5 seems to have come out of the blue, especially with the phone due to be launched in September. According to MacRumors, Digitimes says that Apple has not yet set a volume production timetable for the curved-glass fronted iPhone 5 in motion because Apple is still working with the suppliers to “improve yield rates.”

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that even if they DO use a curved cover glass, all other things being equal it wouldn't make it significantly different than the iPhone 4. It would still be similar enough to actually call "similar"

The iPhone 5 WILL NOT be out in 2011. Period. Every analyst, the people that help drive stock prices, have stated they expect the 5 to have a LTE radio. The issue:

There is NO ONE making LTE/4G radio chips in the quantities needed to mass produce an iPhone 5. This is FACTUAL information that can be researched on more than one level. Start with SEC (or their equivalent) filings of ALL the cell phone radio makers to confirm this.

IF there is a September 2011 launch of an iPhone it will be an iPhone 4S. It will have the following modifications from the current iPhone 4.

1) Single radio design for CDMA/GSM 3G. (Based on statements from VZW)
2) A5 CPU. (Based on manufacturing output)
3) New antenna design. (Based on current failure of iPhone 4 antenna)
4) Possible 3.7" screen with the same 960x480 layout but keeps the PPI above 300. (based on consumer demands)
5) Possible 8MP camera. (based on statements from Sony)

Apple is going to wait for LTE to mature before bringing out an iPhone 5. And please don't forget that Apple has already set a precedent for producing an iPhone with an incremental upgrade (IE iPhone 3GS).

I hope your right about the Iphone 5 not coming out for quite some time because i just bought an Iphone 4 and think it is just fine! They need to just wait until everything is completely fixed including signal and program features so that no one will be able to have major problems or complaints!
