Could my iPhone 5 get virus from a link?

I received an email supposedly from the US Post Office about a failed delivery. I meant to delete it but my thumb clicked the link it provided to supposedly go to the US Postal Service link. Of course, it wasn't their link. I exited out and then closed down Safari, cleared my cookies, etc. Also deleted the email without my thumb getting in the way.

I have been concerned about using my iPhone. I checked the US Postal Service website and found where they know about this email. The link gathers information. I am concerned the email addresses and other info people trusted me with has been compromised and I am also afraid to use my iPhone 5 for calls or sending emails. I am using my iPad Mini for this.

Could my iPhone be infected due to my clumsy thumb touching that part of the email that contained the link? I won't even connect my phone to my computer to edit my playlist because I am afraid it will pass whatever was in that phony USPS website onto my laptop, which is a PC, not Apple.

Thanks.
