Square Enix has made RPG fans very happy today with the release to the app store of yet another classic RPG from its back catalogue, the Secret of Mana. Originally released in Japan in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Secret of Mana received overwhelming praise at the time for its groundbreaking real-time battle system and gorgeously rendered world. The iPhone and iPod touch version of the classic game features a simple control scheme that utilises the touch screen in such a way that players can smoothly get to grips with the action-packed Motion Battle system. This new version of the game also features the Ring Command menu system, which made its debut in the original Secret of Mana, and has appeared frequently in the series since then.
In the game, you get to play as Randi and his two companions, Primm and Popoi, as they explore various fields and advance the epic story, centred on the mystical power of Mana. The drama unfolds as you battle the empire in its quest to control the power of Mana with the help of the eight elementals who wield the powerful and mysterious forces of nature.
