When Chillingo releases a new game to the app store it's always worth checking out, and you never know if it might just be the next Angry Birds! This weeks two contenders from the Angry Birds and Cut the Rope hit-makers supreme are Sky Combat and Sticky.
Sky Combat is a really polished looking vertical shooter from developer Alien Worm, where the player blasts their way through the levels, facing over 30 different enemies and eight challenging bosses using three different craft: an AH-64 Apache helicopter, a speedy combat boat and an armoured Humvee. Along the way youll get the chance to upgrade your missiles and bombs and use special power-ups as you dodge missiles, hails of bullets, tank fire and turrets across the huge levels. The game is already getting some great reviews so probably well worth checking it out if you like top-down shooters. Sticky couldnt be more different than Sky Combat, but it looks like a lot of simple fun all the same. Developed by [em]Gamisty Games, Sticky is the tale of a loveable ball of orange goo who has been accidentally created as a by-product of Professor B Bunsens attempts to invent a new infinite fuel source to solve the worlds energy problems. Use the easy control system to fling Sticky across the screen and bash into his sludgy enemies. Land on their heads to turn them to mush, and string together combos by bouncing from one ball of sludge to the next to rack up the points.
