Its an exciting week for Castlevania fans as Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night has all of a sudden popped up on the iTunes App Store, for the princely sum of £2.99. Its actually something a bit different from what fans will be used to, being a new puzzle-orientated RPG game that uses key elements and characters from the legendary series. In the game, the player is cast as Alucard, the son of Dracula, or they can also choose to play as one of the wide range of characters from Castlevania lore.
Through the course of the game they must undergo a series of tough challenges in order to earn useful items for their ongoing mission. As they make their wary way round the Transylvanian castle location, players will get to go head-to-head against the forces of good or evil, using a range of weapons and spells against their opponents.
Konami says that the game has been specifically designed to make full use of the iPhone/iPod touch touch-screen capabilities, and it also has the honor of being the first Castlevania game ever to appear on iPhone/iPod touch.
No word as to when it will be out in the US.
