Cannot get background to work with typophone 4

I managed to edit the style.css file in iFile to get the blinking 88:88 to stop on typophone 4, but no matter what I do I cannot get the background to change from the black default.

Whenever I set a background to lock screen from settings, it just remains black.

Verizon iPhone 4 on version 4.2.6

I haven't managed to get any custom backgrounds to work with any of those lockscreen themes since 4.2 came out. Belive me I've tried...
