I've been playing with it on my mother's 16PM, and it is very neat for sure. The problem is that I don't take many pictures in landscape. Most quick shots are in portrait. Also, if I am taking pictures on vacation with the intention of posting them to Facebook or Instagram, I will always choose portrait photos.
It's also just a little awkward. I find you have to push hard to get it to take the picture, instead of changing the camera control menu. This makes me shake the phone, ending with a picture that looks shaky.
