Calendar events mysterously deleted.

I have an iPhone 5

I spent a long time last week inputting my work schedule into my phone and now all the re-occurring events are gone.

I am a shift worker with a very random schedule, so it's frustrating to have to do all of this again.

Why were all my re-occurring events taken off my calendar?

When I go through all the trouble of putting it back on how do I ensure this won't happen again?

For example, I work Friday December 21 and this shift continues until Dec 27. I still have the event on the 21st, but there is nothing on 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27.

Why would the original shift still be on the schedule, but repeat and end repeat information is all gone?

I input a month of shifts into my phone and connected it to iTunes.

Under info I had the following clicked:
Sync contacts with Outlook
Sync calendar with Outlook
Sync mail account from outlook

When I clicked "sync" I did it again.

The original event that I put in was there, but the repeat and the repeat end were gone.


When I go back into iTunes again and I unclick:
Sync contacts with Outlook
Sync calendar with Outlook
Sync mail account from outlook

When I sync it leaves my calendar alone and the issue is solved.

Now, my question is why does syncing my iPhone do this to my calendar?

I'd like to be able to keep my calendar on my phone as well as somewhere in the PC or outlook so my wife also has access to it.

What's going on here?
