I was wondering while using safari to browse the internet is there any way I can bookmark or a save the page for me to return to it again later?

Sure there is. At the bottom of the browser screen you should see a box with and arrow pointing upwards (you may have to scroll the window a bit to make it visible).

Once you tap that it opens this window:

Then just tap on either Bookmark or "Add to reading list". The reading list is just a temporary bookmark for a web page in that it disappears from your reading list once you've visited the page. So if it is a page that you'd like to refer to again in the future then you'll want to bookmark it.
