Black blob growing on phone

Hey everyone! I'm a newbie to this forum. I was hoping someone might know why I have a black spot that is growing in the top right hand corner of my phone. It was really small this morning, and as the day progressed, it covered the entire battery so that I can no longer see when I need to charge my phone. What is it? Do you think apple will give me a free replacement? I just got this new phone a 3 months ago....help!

What model iPhone is it? Sounds like a busted LCD that's "bleeding." Any way you can post a pic for us?

BTW, a screenshot won't work, you'll have to photograph the screen with another camera. If there's no sign of damage, the screen problem may be covered under the warranty. If Apple won't replace the phone under the regular warranty, it would be covered by the AppleCare+ plan, if you bought it.
