Me and my husband use Pinger a lot ... He has Android and I think his is called Text Free

I use Pinger a lot. I used to use Text Free but it started displaying too many ad's. iMessage works only for the ones that have iPhones correct? I only have two people in my life with iPhones. Besides I have my iPhone in airplane mode and it gives me a popup telling me to turn it off every time and it get's annoying.
