Benjamin Heckendorn or most commonly Ben Heck is a popular console modder and Internet Celebrity. The modes that made him famous are usually done by taking apart old video game consoles such as the Atari 2600 and Nintendo Entertainment System. His creations have been showcased in publications such as Wired, Popular Science and Maxim. He also appeared on numerous television shows like TechTV, Attack of the Show!, X-Play or Screen Savers. And like any self-respecting guru, Ben Hack has his own show, entitled; you guessed it – the “Ben Heck Show”.

So what did Ben do this time on his latest episode, you might be wondering? Well it seems he couldn’t help himself to not pay his tribute to the extremely popular iPhone, so he morphed it into an enhanced hand-held gaming tool. Are you jealous yet Android fans?

Ben said that he couldn’t think of a better project – as this one combines his interest for video games and a device that users can’t seem to get enough of. Even if the iPhone is a competent device for game playing, he couldn’t help but try to improve it.

So how did he do it? Well Ben had to deconstruct an iCade system in order to implement a scaled-down version of the gaming circuitry. To get things moving Ben had to borrow some voltage from the iPad in order to enable Bluetooth, that in turn powers the iPhone for game playing.

At the end of the episodes, Ben makes sure he teaches viewers how to build their own case and controller components as well. And just like that we have a tricked-out innovative hand-held Apple iPhone gaming device on your hands.
